PayPal Payment Receipt

"WTH?! I didn't buy a Rolex bracelet!"
My Dad got one of those - it's pretty convincing.

I take it that's not your address? I'd be a little worried if it was.
That's not my address. BTW, the fake site is seen in the status bar on the bottom of the screen cap. Usually, I have some fun with those, but I'm at work 🙂

I never respond to any of the crap fake mails I get.
But I know tons of green web users who would follow the links and provide any information requested, if the mail "looked legit". 😱
All we can do is preach, preach, preach.

Got something similar to that, about a month or so ago. I said "WTF??", and was thinking about clicking on it, to see where it would take me, when I noticed that the entire e-mail body was one humungous link. And as far as I know, Paypal doesn't do that. So I did a right click and "copy shortcut", then pasted it into notepad, and discovered it was bogus. :|

So for funsies, I pasted the link into IE (which I never use, especially for any online payments of any type), and went to the phisher's site. Where I proceeded to give them my "pertinent info"
First Name: Youfvckingthieves
Last Name: Ihopeyourotinhell!!!

etc, etc, etc
