Saw this at XS. http://www.neowin.net/news/mai...asswords-leaked-online and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8292928.stm This mostly affects Europe but it may be a good time to change your password for your email accounts.

just saw the first link, amusing.

Update; The carriers are forcing password changes on affected accounts. And some are saying they haven't been hacked, but some reporters are leaving that possibility open, and why not. For me, I think I will try and remember to change my passwords every 90 days.

This is only relevant if you are stupid enough to give up your credentials. And no they probably weren't hacked, it was just a trick to show that they could do it. Phishing only works if you are a fish.

So all this was was a massive phish? MS's servers weren't hacked?

Edit: the fact that the usernames were all starting with A and B makes me suspicious. Wouldn't phished accounts be all over the alphabet? It seems more like a hack to me.

I am not going to blindly accept some large companies statements about how secure their servers are, as far as I know nothing is safe from hacking. I made a thread a while back about Razor drivers being infected with a trojan. It wasn't a bad one but the fact that it was there should make you think about what you click on. What if it was a key logger attached to the drivers? I followed the links in some of the articles and most of the major carriers came up even Comcast, and they aren't in Europe as far as I know. I'm with you Larry, suspicious until proven wrong.
