Bedlam, Broke, or Benevolent?

Rogo

A perfect question for the evening and the rest of the weekend. Thank god for Michael's and the 3rd tier! I love the bass clarinet!

If individual brain cells are each additively responsible for our consciousness, yet each one is not aware of the higher consciousness of the whole brain, perhaps then the whole planet has a higher level of consciousness of which the individual organisms within are not aware?

Except the cells are directly interconnected, transmit electrical impulses, and the earth would have to be able to act were 'consciousness' to mean anything.

Simply put, that's ridiculous.

You could make a fairly weak argument that the earth is 'alive' in some small sense, but not that it's conscious.

I'm waiting for Tohen to flow-that's why music seems to be the beauty.

I've also sensed it in the wind of a wheat field as I harvested it (red wheat just so you all have bread, bagels, and crummpets.

1. Internet/Phone, etc.
2. Wires
3. The problem is you're trying to define 'acting' conscious when the two are entirely irrelevant. One does not need to act or even display any signs of life to be conscious.

To be conscious is to be sapient-to be sapient means that an organism (debatable with an object that is based on binary) is able to act with judgment. A specific attribute of the psyche is that of being able to decide what is 'wise'. Wisdom is being able to taste life.

You might want to update your definition of consciousness and go from there :)

This is not debatable. I love pie.

But what is pie but a sensory reaction in our brains? Is pie real? Or does our brain just tell us it is, with warm sensations of sweet blackberry on our tongue and the cold creamy feeling of icecream that follows?
