Not sure if this is a deal or not but I was just in Target and picked up a Phillips HDR212 (20hr model) for $169. It was cleanaced from $199. I didn't have a Target card so I signed up and got an additional 10% off. It looks like a Tivo to me.

Is this a good deal?

Got me. There's codes everywhere. It's a model HDR212BK01. Code on the receipt is 008070212. Does that help?

Yes - I'm sorry, it's a Tivo, 20hr unit.

There were two of them at the Target in Simi Valley, CA. Now there's only one.

So - Can anyone tell me what this thing will still do if I do not sign up for the Tivo service?

Is there any way to extend the 30 minute only memory?

The manual lists an Upgrade website for the storage capacity. What does this involve?

Thanks.
