The moral relativism you promote is one of the main reasons for the moral decline of the western world. Since there is a Creator who decides these things, Moral absolutism is the only proper answer to this question. The perfect rationality of Christianity answers the question of good and evil. Consult the Holy Bible for additional enlightenment.

Yes, moral relativism leads to an intellectual paralysis, but is no different in social effect than the state achieved by religious lobotomization you speak of. Whether society is reduced to inaction because of the fear of suppressing someone's notion of good and bad, or reduced to inaction out of the fear of god, the end is no different - society suffers. Liberals sit on their hands because they think themselves into normlessness, and left to their own devices, would let the world descend into anarchy. Religious zealots, taught to fear an imaginary man in the sky, force themselves into a similar inertia but through belief in the products of ancient ignorance - creationism, genesis, and the like. What's the difference? If anything, at least the liberals are fully inactive. The fanatics are not only mired with their head up the anus, they also force this - and up until the last centure, violently so - upon others as well.
