Philips Ultimate Edge - Stupid name for a 5.1 card. Anyway, it's based on Via Envy 24GT chip and Wolfson support chips. Review Here . As far as I can tell, no arrangements were made for header-style front panel connections - more wires hanging out the back... What's the matter with these sound card mfrs anyway?
. If you can find an Acoustic Edge on the used market, I'd probably still recommend that instead.

Those blue jumper caps look like they may be for front panel connectors. The picture on the site is too small to tell for sure though.

I'm hoping Hercules also jumps on-board and provides Creative alternatives as well.:D

Speaking as a former Acoustic Edge owner, I wouldn't recommend ANY of the Philips cards based on the Thunderbird Avenger DSP until they update their drivers for WinXP (which they haven't for over a year).

In any case, this new UE card is essentially the same as M-Audio's new "Revo 5.1". Given a choice between the two, I'd rather M-Audio's version since they're alittle bit better in regards to software updates and support (I believe both cards use a variant of VIA's reference drivers though).
