philips accoustic edge, low volume in win2k

just got a philips accoustic edge, the card is wonderful except that the output from the card is very low in win2k. I dual boot with win98 and the volume on that is about normal than my previous hercules game theater xp. i checked all settings and everything seems to be the same with each OS.

Driver version? I use the 1.84's in XP and neverr had a problem with volume levels in Win2k.

i'm using the 1.84 beta from 3dsoundsurge. where did you get yours?

I also got mine from 3DSS. This may sound like a stupid question, but did you check the volume level?

Yeah, I found that the volume is lower in the WDM ones, compared to the VXD drivers. Later drivers seem to be better though, so make sure you have the 1.84 beta drivers from 3DSS Go to the forum and d/l the latest beta. There *may* be new drivers around the corner soon, but can't say more than that 😉
