Philipines Ebayer? Can he be trusted

Hey, I don't know where else to ask this since I don't know anyone else besides people here on this forum...yeah sad i know. But anyways, there's an ebayer who just bought $2,000 worth of computer parts from me..(hard drives, ram, cd-rw) and wants me to ship to the philipines. He's going to pay me through his existing funds through paypal and was wondering whether he's trying to scam me somehow. He hasn't paid yet so I'm not sure if it'll be under his name or anything. I'm not sure what I should do since ebay fees will total $70 already. I heard sellers state they will not deal with shipping to the philipines or any asian country (i'm chinese btw) because a lot of cons originiate from there. I'm just wondering what he might be pulling? A stolen paypal account? and if so what should I do?

No offense intended but I would never ship anything to an Asian country unless I had the cash in my hand already.

I definitely wouldn't ship anywhere without the cash in my hands but I'm afraid he's running some sort of scam. He claims he's in the Philipines for a trip or something...seems soooo "yeah riiiight" sorta deal but then my mind wanders and maybe he's buying the poor village people there a computer? I don't know but I'm just trying to find out what sort of scam he might be planning. I'm waiting to see if the paypal account has his name on it...which it might because he ebay account is new too.. Yeah, I know all too suspicious!!! But he already won my auctions (about 5) and I'm not sure whether I should tell him to go away and I'm relisting my items or what not. I don't do ebay much so I really don't want to go through the hassle of relisting and then requesting my final value money back (~$70) from ebay.

Most likely, I'll just do that but I'm interested in knowing what scam he's pulling if any? Any thoughts?=)

The dude has a white name..this thread is NOT PC (politically correct) anyways. But I know people who live in the Philipines and they have money. Ok, I'm 99.999% sure it's a scam but what's he pulling?

Take your overly sensitive bitch ass elsewhere. If you can't accept the fact that a lot of fraud DOES originate from asian countries, then you need to take off the blinders.

He is in Phillipines for a trip, and he is buying stuff from Ebay? If it's not a business trip, then he just might be the biggest geek ever!

Tell him to paypal the money first and you will promptly ship the parts. If he doesn't like it, tell him to take his business elsewhere.

A scam?

LOL, yeah wise guy. But what type of scam. I don't like scammers, may they all die! Grrr

What type of scam? How about the scam where you send him your stuff and you get nothing in return? Does it really matter what type of scam? Geez.

tell him to send the money first. when you get the money, immediately
a) take it out of paypal (do you have a debit card or something?)
or
b) transfer it to your bank acct then take it out there.

don't send the parts out first, no matter what.

dude, i'm filipino, and i know a lot of crazy stuff goes on down there, and i'm not offended by this at all...

that being said, it prolly is a scam, but if he does give you the money first, then i believe you're obligated to send the items, no?? someone correct me please if i'm wrong on this...

Yes, I will not ship to anyone before them paying. Obviously but I'm saying what if he does pay from his existing funds...NOT credit card and the name of the account owner matches the ebay account, etc.

i don't know about the people stating 'facts' here and then justifying them by being "asian"... i'm filipino... i've been there... and people drive cars that many of you nor i can afford. and guess what... they have overclockers and modders there too believe it or not... but honestly... i wouldn't deal with that guy either... $2000 is a lot of money and a transaction like that is very risky.

I wouldn't take the chance of something going wrong, either moneywise or shipping wise. Not because its the philipines but because its 1/2 way around the world.

btw, what are his refs? you can followup with people he's traded with to verify he is who he says he is as well as his shipping address.
