It looks like Philadelphia is again going to be a focal point for voting suppression as the New Black Panther Party is making its community organizing outreach and the Democrats are forcibly removing Republican poll inspectors in over 25 precincts.

I thought PA was a lock for Obama, but I guess the desperation to rig the vote says otherwise.

Philly GOP: Poll inspectors being ousted for Dems

November 6, 2012 | 8:31 am

Court-appointed Republican poll inspectors are being forcibly removed from voting stations in some Philadelphia wards and replaced in some cases by Democratic inspectors and even members of the Black Panthers, according to GOP officials.

Secrets just received this memo from GOP officials:

The Philadelphia GOP is reporting that court appointed Minority (read GOP) Inspectors are being thrown out of polling locations in several Wards.

These Inspectors are election officials - again, court appointed -- and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats) and being replaced by Democrats.

This has happened at the following locations:

Ward 32, Div 13

Ward 43, Div 14

Ward 56, Div 1

Ward 56, Div 22

Ward 32, Div 28

Ward 32, Div 28

Ward 12, Div 17

Ward 39, Div 1

Ward 24, Div 9

Ward 18, Div 25

Ward 43, Div 14

Ward 29, Div 18

Ward 65, Div 19

Ward 20, Div 1

Ward 6, Div 11

Another official told Secrets: "one of our female inspectors was physically thrown out."

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney decided at the last minute to make stops in Pennsylvania, believing that the race there was close enough that he could win.

Judge issuing order to reinstate booted Philadelphia election officials, Republicans say

Published November 06, 2012

A Pennsylvania judge is issuing an order to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges, GOP officials tell Fox News.

One Republican official claimed that "just under 70" Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, "was shoved out of the polling place."

"For this many inspectors to be ejected from polling places is rare, even for Philadelphia," the official told FoxNews.com.

Republicans claim they are obtaining a series of court orders to seat the so-called election "inspectors," and sheriff's deputies will be available to escort them.

Despite the high number of officials who were allegedly booted, the dispute itself is not uncommon for Philadelphia. Fred Voigt, legal counsel for the city commissioners, said these kinds of face-offs happen "with regularity" in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

The on-site election officials are responsible for verifying the identity of voters, and monitoring for signs of fraud or disenfranchisement.

Right now just GOP accusations.

Any independant corroboration??

I don't believe for a minute poll inspectors replaced by black panthers.

BTW - Did this guy stop anyone/question anyone?

I heard reports True the Vote is actually stopping people and asking for ID

Sounds like a wash to me.

I suspect the spotting of 6 black panthers nationwide will be a bigger story on Fox News then the actual elections.

The NBPs seem to be outnumbered by the thousands being sent out by TTV and Crossroads.

What the article actually says:

It happens all the time," Voigt said. He said court-appointed Republican officials typically show up on Election Day and end up squaring off against stand-in officials at the polling sites filling in the open seats. Part of the problem, he said, is that the Republican inspectors are appointed on relatively short notice, leading to a string of confrontations on Election Day.

"There are no cool heads here," Voigt said.

So in one thread we have libs claiming republicans are out in mass the day before elections to suppress minority voters but non of our lib posters here ask for proof but now if its reps getting kicked out and multiple reports at multiple sites and you demand more proof.

Libs=cry babies that can only see one side of a coin.

Don't forget kids, asking people for ID to verify their identity = voter suppression. Black panther thugs and criminals at polling stations intimidating voters, kicking out inspectors who monitor the election = perfectly fine.

Yep, seeing paramilitary dressed thugs and physical violence at polling stations is perfectly fine.............in you're a Democrat/progressive.

Politely asking for a voter ID to verify identity is OMFG voter suppression.

Good job generalizing a political group based off of a thread on a tech forum. You must be a very astute individual.

Obama's going to win PA no matter how long they have to keep open the polls - as long as there are only Democrats to observe, anyway.

So what does appointed on short notice have to do with squaring off.

If the Dems are preventing the officials from being where they are supposed to be; that is the problem.

Apparently there is judge that agrees; he is ordering the Dems to allow the Repub observers to be present. There is enough of a concern for the Repubs to ask for LEO tol make sure that it is done.

Hello! I guess you do not know this, but news stories are updated during the day and a later version will likely offer up more detail and expand the story line as additional quotes and information are made available.

Why did you not post the entire updated story?

Why did you select only one paragraph instead of offering the entire updated version?

I cut and paste any stories that I post, so maybe you should take off those partisan blinder before you post to at least try to see if the focus of the story is worth considering instead of commenting about version changes, that, in this case, do happen to show an ever worse problem than originally described.

Here is the UPDATED story in its entirety. Note they also changed the headline. Looks like the latest count of Republican election officials that were ejected or refused entry by elected Democrat voting judges now is approaching 70. With those kind of numbers it certainly appears to be a coordinated and collusive action by the Democrat Party to suppress Republican oversight of the election in Philadelphia.

Additionally, the law prohibits political advertising at voting locations - why is there a wall size photo of Obama staring down voters right in front of the voting machines?

Funny business in Philly: GOP officials booted, Black Panthers return -- and Obama at polling site?

A Pennsylvania judge issued an order Tuesday to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges.

It was one of several controversies surfacing in Pennsylvania's largest city on Election Day.

One polling site in Philadelphia apparently had a mural of President Obama emblazoned on the wall directly behind the voting machines. The mural, at a local school being used as a polling site, contained the words "change!" and "hope," along with a quote from the president.

Republicans were drawing attention to the image Tuesday morning, with one Mitt Romney spokesman tweeting: "Voters in Philly's Ward 35 are being forced to cast their ballots next to this."

"It is an absolute disgrace," said Shannon Royer, deputy secretary for external affairs and elections in Pennsylvania. "Election materials and electioneering inside the polling place are prohibited by state law. This can be interpreted as trying to influence voters inside the polling place. I am told discussions are going on now about covering the mural."

Pennsylvania election law states "no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place."

Elsewhere in the city, a representative from the New Black Panther Party was also spotted outside a polling site. The New Black Panthers stirred controversy in 2008 when members appeared outside a polling site, one of them holding a billy club. The representative seen Tuesday morning was not armed.

The flap over the election judges, though, was widespread. Republicans claim they are obtaining a series of court orders to seat the so-called election "inspectors," and sheriff's deputies will be available to escort them.
