Philadelphia Eagle fans borrow against homes for Super Bowl.

I live 2 hours from philly and have always hated not the Eagles but the FANS! They have to be the rudest and most obnoxious fans that you will ever meet. Of course this doesn't pertain to every Eagles fan just the ones that have no class.

Anyway, I think it's crazy to risk your home so you can watch the super bowl in person. First, they can't even afford the $4,000 and on top of that they are willing to pay more a month on house payments for the next 10-20 years?

I understand it's their life and they are they are the ones that are going to have to make the payments. I'm just giving MY OPINION on the subject. Nothing more, nothing less. I also realize that you only live once and the Eagles may never make it to the big game ever again. This may be their only chance to watch their team live in the Super Bowl.

Is what they are doing smart or are they making a big mistake?

Anyone who does that is a moron, not limited to Eagles fans. Is a game THAT important?

This part tells you all you need to know about this guy:

"Sometimes the cards are maxed out and you gotta do what you gotta do". I'm assuming he means his credit cards are already maxed out so the only way he could afford $4000 was to borrow against his home. That's just pathetic.

I pulled a home equity loan to pay back my dealer and get more junk too.

mistake, but if it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, just shows you how dedicated/crazy they can be.

Yea. I'm getteing the hell out of debt as soon as I can. I'm getting back $1,800 in federal taxes and it's all going to my debt. I'm so sick of making other people money.

The sad thing is by the time he pays it off that $4000 will be over $10,000 (with interest). That's just a rough estimate but my point is he's making other people money.

Wow. I know there are some truly damned stupid footbal fans out there, I live in Cleveland, but these people by far are the stupidest. There is no way in hell I would ever risk my house to watch a game.

At least he has a home, so it's not as bad as it could be. I hate to say it, because I know I'm gonna get flamed, but I don't blame the guy. I've waited almost 30 years to see the Vikings in the Superbowl. I'd do just about anything to see that before I die.

I agree with u, who knows when the guy will ever have this opportunity. And if he is responsible and pays his bills he can have a once in a lifetime experience and not get hurt financially very much.

Dude, he took out a loan on his house because he has maxed out credit cards. Obviously, he is not CLOSE to being financially responsible. I'd love to see him try to explain to his kid that he/she can't go to college because daddy had to see the Eagles in the Superbowl.

no wonder some of the fans look homeless. I've always wondered how they got tickets to the game, now I know.

Oh...so...true. There's going to be mass suicides come Sunday night when Philly loses. People will be offing themselves with anything they can get their hands on - spoons, toothpicks, suffocation via their useless McNabb jerseys.

How much are super bowl tickets? (Face value)?

I thought season ticket fans had first shot at super bowl tickets or something... no?

kid takes out loans/earns scholarships to get through school? What's wrong with that. It's very satisfying putting yourself through school without parents help.

I say you only live once. I wish I had gone for it and went to New Orleans a couple years ago when 'Cuse won the title. Probably couldn't have afforded it at the time but I would've managed.
