Neither of which state it is wrong to call out other members, only mods. Ans for P&N calling someone a "name" isn't even breaking the rules.

While it is a bit mean and slightly derogatory, I don't see it as infraction-able under what he was given an infraction for. It was very poor taste to make that post though.

OK, first, if you're correct, in that Federal law allows citizens the right to manufacture their own guns, then I don't see how this law can stand.

But:
To backup my opinion I present the The English Bill of Rights. Which was enacted by the English Parliament and singed into law by King William III in 1689.

I look for this law Philadelphia passed to be struck down.

why the fuck should we care about the English Bill of Rights over here?
:hmm:

Another case of politicians who don't understand what a technology is or how it works trying to create legislation regarding that technology.

In order to pass a law regarding technologies developed recently (3d printing could hardly be called recent, but mass-market 3d printing certainly is) you should be required have a degree in that field or be able demonstrate equivalent knowledge.

Nothing about the people who signed this into law make them qualified to pass such judgement.

Because our laws were suppose to be drafted derivatives of "good" English laws when we were starting our country. Meaning we didn't completely reinvent the wheel when we were forming our country after throwing off the yoke of Britain. So where our laws are derived from older English laws, it's nice to look up the old intent and how those laws were used even back then to understand some of the intent of our current "old" laws now.

Err I thought the technology is not there yet to do this? Even with 3d printed metal, it's simply not strong enough? Or is this only for ar lowers?

Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank, give a man a bank and he can rob the world.

or if you prefer,

Give a man a 3d printer and he can make a gun and rob a bank, give a banker a currency printer and he can rob the world.

apparently moonb* is so disabled he's a protected class in these forums. Argue the point with a mod and you get no explanation, and a 24 hour ban.
