ack! now heres a story lol!!!

well.. i was playing HL2 deathmatch, and got one of those errors in the background that you cant seem to alt+tab to or anything - i was forced to power down my pc....

i obviously then turned it back on, and waited, and then it started loading up sata and raid crap. i immediately realised my bios must have for some reason reset itself. sooooo, i turn off and on and go into bios!

i set everything back to how it used to be ( pci agp lock, 256 fsb, 4:3 divider, 1.575v , 2.7v... dropped cas timings etc etc...) then booted.

dum de dum... HEY WTF! windows loading bar froze!?

omg. so i reboot, to see if it was just a freak thing. i got to the windows login and froze again!.

CRAP ME THINKS, THIS MUST BE ONE OF THOSE DECREASING OVERCLOCK INCIDENTS!!!
soo, me goes and lowers fsb right down to 250 😛, and i touch the HTT from 1000 to 800 just to rule out that as well.

WELL, the next time i booted up, it froze and rebooted, BUT WITH WHITE ARTIFACTS ON THE SCREEN!.
they looked exactly like when i had screwed up an old vid card by OCing core too much... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i think to myself *hears rings from ati spokesmen saying "Yes you can flash the bios of pro vivos..... But they wont last long!"* It also froze at this point too.
At this point, i turn it off, and also freeze :l ahhhhh my 300 quid vid card 🙁🙁🙁 no more hl2 for me back to the old geforce 2 🙁 🙁 🙁

OMG. so i boot again, go into bios (artis still there) and turn the fsb all the way down to 200! and then i think to myself, heyyy this may be happening with the pci / agp lock... hmm, it may have b0rked itself!.

i go to the pci / agp lock section, its enabled at 33/66, but i disable and reenable it again, and boot. and pfft

IT WORKS

WOW I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS HEHEHE bit long i know but hey im bored its late and gahhhh

ahh teh joys of an overclocked pc..
