I try and keep as much money as possible in my ING acct - keeps me from impulse spending anything - and in an emergency have money in a day or two

I had like ~$100 in my account, and on thursday transferred like $300 from my paypal acct to checking - and bought a bunch of stuff this weekend.

Looked last night... -$120 and no indication of anything from paypal - no overdraft charges either though - i was expecting to wake up w/ 3 fillups from my bike ($10 a piece) three trips to starbucks (~$3 each) a pack of gum, couple fast food charges etc to clear and each give me a $20 fee

thankfully the paypal stuff went through even though it was in the pending charges list

YAY for a good start of the week!

oh... one of the charges was one of those aero ace planes - REALLY cool - well worth the ~$30

I do the same thing with ING and my checking. (Most money in ING, some in checking)

I have had a few overdraft charges ($39 a pop). What sucks is, they charge you $39 for the gum, $39 for the gas, $39 for the Fritos, $39 for the beer, etc. That really adds up fast.

I just charge everything to a credit card and pay that off each month now.

I used to do that, but I got into a bad habit of not keeping a close eye on what I'm buying. I find I'm more frugal when I only use my checking card... A long time ago I overdrafted like 6-7 tiny tiny amounts (it was gas for a different bike - and it was like 4 - $6 fill-ups and 3 - $1.50 gatorades... It totalled less than $30, and I had >$150 in fees. I went to wachovia and was kind of like yeah I screwed up but come on - this is ridiculous - and they took every single overdraft charge off.

I <3 wachovia

Samething happened to me, except my bank wouldn't budge on any of my overdraft charges.. :( Stupid paypal, why can't they notify me when I've overdrafted? What makes it really bad is the fact that paypal will charge your account and if it's overdrafted, apparently the bank doesn't pay paypal, you get the overdraft fee and then paypal tries AGIAN to charge your bank, this happened to me on two transactions then a thrid transaction, so I effectively ended up with FIVE overdraft fees! :|

I had a $700 pending charge against my checking account this week-end.
Balance shows -300.

No spending cash at all. Had to live off of the emergency credit card :(

Need to change the card numbers. This is happening much to frequently. Lucky nothing is actually posting, but it is a pain.
