Phenom's MIA?

There are a couple of great reviews/previews by Johan and Anand regarding Phenom and Barcelona on the main AT homepage. Barcelona is a server-class chip. Phenom is a desktop chip (and is what most of us are more likely interested in).

Barcelona is what launched yesterday. Phenom is slated for Q4, I believe.
 
Indeed, Barcelona chips are available for order from Dell, after a quick check of their server selection. Haven't looked anywhere else.

Why don't people understand that. The desktop variant of Barcelona is called Agena. Barcelona doesn't concern you, it just indicates the performance of Agena since its the same architecture, but its not what you will be purchasing for your desktop.

I thought Barcelona was just the codename for the Phenom's. Kind of like Clawhammer, Winchester, etc.

Barcelona is the codename for the Opterons. Kind of like SledgeHammer, Venus, etc.

Understandable confusion...
Barcelona is both the codename for the K10 as well as the name of the server chip, just as before C2D was announced as the name, Conroe or Merom was both the chip and the tech name.

Phenoms will be shipped in November for December availability.
