PhenomII 940 supports AM3 & DDR3?

Hey all, is going from a newer PhenomII x3 720 (tri-core 95w) to an older PhenomII 940 (quad core, 125w) worth the trouble? planning on buying one and selling the other, just wanna be sure the PhenomII 940 supports the AM3 platform & DD3, yea? Or is that only the later PhenomII line?

It does not. 940 and 920 are AM2/DDR2 only

940 and 920 are the only AM2+ cpus (first Phenom IIs). So no, they only support DDR2.
