Phenom IIX6 backward compatibility...?

I've seen in several places that Thubans will be backward compatible with AM3 boards with bios updates but also saw in other places that that only applies to 790 FX and GX boards....so....is it actually likely that some of the more budget boards like MA-770t-ud3p are going to be able to take a Thuban or no?
