so I finally got my phenom II BE 555 to unlock to 4 cores, not sure on stability, but I had to install windows XP pro as I'm waiting on a good moment to buy windows 7 within next few weeks.

What are the chances, after installin windows 7, I have issues getting the 4 cores to unlock? I would assume since I can get them unlocked now, and stable, I indeed have a 4 core processor and should not have issues regardless of the windows O/S version.

Opinions/thoughts?

mizzou... Unlocking the cores has nothing to do with the OS... Its all in the bios of the MB... The OS is only as stable as the cores themselves are with given Mhz and voltage required... Just like with OC`ing a higher core voltage may stablize a processor like you have just to run at stock speed but sometimes if lucky you can also OC the unlocked cores... But sometimes even with increased core voltage cores may unlock but not be stable enough to load windows...

Win7 is just a newer and somewhere more updated and more stable platform than WinXP but is still dependant on the hardware that it runs on... If your unlock works good with WinXP then it should also be just fine with Win7...
