I have an AMD Phenom II X4 965BE, a ASUS M4A88TD-V motherboard, 8GB (2x4) Corsair DDR3-1333, and 2x XFX 5770 in crossfire.
Now, stock clock on the 965BE is 3.4Ghz. I was effortlessly able to bump it to 3.75 at stock voltage, using 250Mhz HT and a 15x Multiplier.
Now, the annoying part. I want to bump it a little higher. But no matter what the voltage, even outrageous voltages don't work. Anything higher than 3750Mhz results in an instant lock under prime95. If I bump the multiplier up half a step, it locks. If I lower the HT and raise the mutliplier, it locks. It is generally fine at no load, but put a load on it and it just BSODs. Temps are under control (Using a Corsair H50 cooling kit, stays under 55 under prime95 at 3.75).
Am I doing something wrong here, or is this particular chip just incapable of going higher than 3.75, because that just seems rather low for a PhII with a watercooling kit.
