I see this alot ohh don't get the 6 core nothing uses 6 cores.

advanced core calibration in the bios

If 6 cores isnt good enough because you seen a quad core out run it. AMD motherboards offer the ability for you to turn the 6 core in to a quad core disable 2 cores should cut heat by a small factor allowing the running 4 cores to be overclocked more so than the 6 would all togather be clocked. so the 1100t can be a phenom II 980 just bump off 2 cores.
and when 6 cores becomes normal usage

acc turn the cores back on

all is well.

lol, so, buy more cores, so you can disable them to save heat, turn on in winter.
Not a terrible idea.

You should talk to tweakboy.

not saying run and spend more on 6 cores i was just pointing out that with ACC the 6 can be made to match the quad core that beat it out in thoes old benchmarks with matching ghz thats all . I come in peace!

My Phenom II X6 1090T overclocks better than my Athlon II X4 640 and just as well as my Phenom II X4 965 while giving me more performance because I USE those extra cores.

What?! I thought Deloreons were AWESOME! I can travel to the future and back in time...

A pinto on the other hand...D:

The only reason I, or anyone my age, knows anything about DeLoreans is because one of them had a Mr. Fusion stuck onto it. I didn't think they were that bad. Obviously smoblikat disagrees.

Better yet you could make all six cores run FASTER than a 980 instead of fooling yourself into thinking winodws will not use those extra cores, that or accept that the gains seen doing what you advised isn't even worth doing.

or just get an intel and run it at stock speeds :'( D:

I use all 6 of my cores and if it had more I would use the hell out of those. For what I do a quad would lose ground to a x6.
