Phenom II 1090T wonky temps

Hi, im just wondering if its normal to have a CPU temp being way higher then the core temp. My Phenom II x6 1090T shows a 13 degree jump from the core temp of 30C to 43C for the CPU temp. From reading online its usually the other way around if one is hotter then the other. Seems rather odd to me.

Like he said, worry about the "core" reading. The other one is actually reading a probe near the socket and not on the actual CPU. It will not be accurate.

Also, the "core" reading on Thuban seems to be a little, off at least under idle. Mine reads 20C when the room temp is around 24C. It maxes out at 52C and I've had to stability issues. I've read people at Xtremesystems who say to add 10-12c to what ever it says to get the real temp, but I'm not sure if it's a widespread problem or limited to certain configs.

Core temp readings behave weirdly on my Thuban (960T) system also. For example, Speedfan will show both the core temp and the cpu sensor as 31C. Then, a few minutes later the core temp will drop 10 or 11 degrees to 20-21C, which is the ambient temperature.

When I first noticed this and did some googling, I found that many people reported bad core temp readings with Thubans. So I now trust the CPU sensor reading more than the core temp.

Thanks for the info, my core temp seems stable, it generally only goes up or down with heavy use or when i change the power settings to higher fans and such. I use Everest Ultime to monitor core temp which seems to be pretty accurate(ie it doesn't fluctuate a lot) Thanks i was a bit worried since under load the CPU temp(core was always lower) reading seemed to get kinda up there which made me think i wouldn't have much headroom for OCing(though all the temps have dropped to the lows they are at now since i installed my Antec Kuhler h20 620
