Title says it all. The 9950 BE can be had for under $180 if you look around. Seems like a deal. Don't bring any Intel rhetoric in this thread. This thread is about the AMD Phenom.

For those running this CPU with the new 790GX chipset what are your overclocking numbers? We have all seen the review sites with 3.4-3.5GHz numbers but I want to know what you are living with day to day and what is stable day to day. Utilizing an aftermarket cooler is a given. I have a Zalman at home waiting to be unpacked.

Will I reliably be able to see 3.2GHz for day to day operations? That is the question. With Shanghai around the corner I am temped to wait but I would also like to build a new rig before Christmas if possible.

I have a 9850BE

Recently a friend of mine bought the foxconn 790GX board and a 9950BE

with my chip in the board i was able to hit 3.35 stable (up from 3.1 on my SB600 board)

my friend has his 9950BE sitting at 3.5 1.5V 100% stable but runs it at 3.3 1.42V 24/7

so, yes, from what i have seen there is not a 9950BE + SB750 board that wont pass 3.2

I have a 9850 at 3GHz at only 1.35v on the stock cooler with the Gigabyte 790GX board. I'm waiting to mod my case to fit the water cooling equipment so I can push higher.

You should easily be able to get 3.0GHz out of the cpu with a good cooling heatsink/fan. For the $139 at fry's, it's a steal right now. :)

I just got in on the Deal at Fry's for $139 dollars and all I have to say is Wow and heatsink is included and a good one at that. This Cpu flys at stock and you can easily overclock this beast to 3ghz from what I read. I just built, but at stock its super fast and if you can get it at 139 dollars its an awesome deal. Im using the Asus M3N78 board certified for the 9950 BE. Im very happy with this cpu and recommend it.
