tat board isnt particularly good... but you could always sell it and keep the phenom if you needed something local

I picked one up this morning. I was disappointed when I learned that there was a misprint in the paper and the processor was actually a Phenom II 805 instead of the 810. I haven't opened any of the packaging yet as I am still not sure if I want to keep it or return it. I haven't really been able to find many reviews of the 805 and how it compares to offerings from Intel.

As for the motherboard, I did a build with one of these not too long ago. I haven't had any problems - running very stable. I haven't tried doing any overclocking with it since I am not really an overclocker. I figure it is a Gigabyte, so it is probably a decent motherboard.

This is something I did not "need," but it looked like a pretty good deal when I saw it in this morning's paper. If you look on Newegg's site, they have the Phenom II 810 listed for $140. The only difference between the 810 and the 805 is clock speed (2.6 GHz vs 2.5 GHZ). So, I figure the cost of the 805 (if Newegg carried it) would be about $120 to $130. If that holds true, then you are getting the motherboard for free. The motherboard usually goes for about $50 by itself.

I've built over a dozen systems with that motherboard and never had an issue with any of them. It's in my parents pc as well and runs rock solid.

^That's correct the board is dead solid @ stock speeds. Can't vouch for OC'ing but I did build a 6 WS setup with those boards over a year ago and they have had no trouble at all.

Got this last weekend. The x4 805 is even mislabeled as 6 MB cache on the packaging. Anyway, got my 6MB L3 cache by enabling ACC using my biostar ta790gx xe. Currently running at 3.125Ghz at stock vcore .

gee thanks a lot you guys for the positive feedback on the board now that the deal has been over for four days....

The Gigabyte board is very excellent and stable I have one myself very nice board and supports 125Watt phenoms.
