can you say 60 megapixels?

it's full frame, or at least close enough for government work.

it won't be out for another year, but if you pre-order one they'll loan you their current model until they can ship you the 60 MP model

Having covered by thoughts about the need for something like this in the other thread (and my thoughts being more or less being mirrored in the article), I'll just leave my comments on this brief:

Sweet. I'd love to play with one of these.

On the note of (very) high resolution photography, I've always been fascinated by macro photography, and I think highly detailed macros from something like this would be awesome. Not only would you be able to see the cells on a fly's eye, but you could zoom in to see the structure of the dividers between the cells.

from what i've gathered, taking photos of tiny things and making them big in the photo is called photomacrography

and taking pictures of something big, to make really big, is called macro photography

but i believe that the term is one of those "now it means THIS" terms

either way, the camera looks fun to play with. but thats half my annual salary, and about 40x the size of my camera budget
