Phantom Tonsil Pains?

Is there anything else behind the tonsils that would occationally cause pain? I ask because i had a tonsilectory last spring following a long battle with my tonsils.... However, recently, i've been feeling random light pain in the same place my tonsils used to be...

if they get swollen, they start to hurt as well. Sometimes a warning sign of getting sick.
