phantom cd rom

my comptuer shows an extra cd rom drive that i physically don't have. it is listed as a axv cd/dvd-rom scsi cdrom advice. I do ahve a scsi card and a scsi burner. any ideas on how i may be able to find the solution?
 
Do you have Alcohol120% installed? CloneCD installed? Daemon Tools installed? A120 and DT usually mount a virtual drive on startup. If you right-click the drive, can you unmount it?
 
yeah i have daemon tools..but when i unmount all the drives its still there. I recently uninstalled alcohol120. Could the uninstalled alcohol 120 be the problem?

If i remove it in the device manager it still finds it when i restart.
 
I had a phantom CD drive and I also had Alcohol 120 installed.
I tried deleting the drive and alcohol and anything else but I could not get
rid of it. Alsways came back the next time I booted up.

It was time to reformat and that did it..........
