Phantasy Star Online: I miss you.

Modeps

PSO was one of my most played titles on the Dreamcast, turned into one of my most played titles on the GCN. I was very excited about PSU, but it failed me completely.

I miss you PSO 🙁

I found an excellent option. Its the PC version of PSO e1,e2, & e4. I created a thread about it over in PC gaming, because thats what it is.

Agree with you there, played tons of PSO on my DC and GC and I was so excited for PSU but was highly disappointed. Thinking about it kinda makes me want to fire up my DC again and play it.

I bought a keyboard adapter for the DC so I could type faster while playing. I spent so much time online with that game. It was the first online console game I played.

I purchased the keyboard and the network adapter for that game. I sold both though 🙁

I loved that game 🙁 I remember when it came out, the USA version did not support the Broadband Adapter. But like a day later someone found out if you download the japanese ISO of the dreamcast web browswer, you can set your dreamcast internal memory to support it, then PSO worked. I remember playing til 4 or 5 am on that game. Such fun.

Haha, yep. I remember having to do that. It worked, and it worked SO well. I wish I bought a bunch of those BBAs though, they go for a nice profit on Ebay now.

PSU's online multiplayer was a serious disappointment for me. Not only was it a grind-fest, but the interfaces just sucked (shops, anyone?).

Ironically, single player was fantastic. I'm hoping they ditch the MMO aspects in PSU2, and just let us invite people to our own persistent worlds (eg, co-op single-player with your own characters!).

yeah PSO was incredible. shame i was dial up.

phone bill came one day, and made my poor mother cry

never went back..

I had such a huge addiction to PSO on the Dreamcast, event imported the version 2. Me and a friend even play it legitimately when the vast majority of people there were modifying their characters with gameshark/action replay. Looking back now, the game was very shallow content-wise, but it was such a fun time for the six months that I played.
