PG278Q looks washed out and crappy

Hi everyone,

Right now I'm messing with a PG278Q and it looks washed out and crappy, worse than even some really cheap TN panels I've played with in the past.

I suspect that it's an issue with the gamma, but the OSD doesn't have a way to mess with the gamma. I've tried setting the individual colors (R, G, and B) and brightness to presets I've found online, but it still looks pretty bad.

Anybody know how to get this monitor to look good? Thanks!

Awesome glad to hear you were able to fix it 🙂, nothing worse than bad colors on a display.

Really appreciate it, the display looks quite gorgeous now. Not quite as good as the XB270HU/PG279Q (but response time is better), but it is still very good nonetheless. Much better than the cheap TN panels I've seen 🙂

Yup, very decent colors, not like TN at all. Shoddy Asus quality and weak TN viewing angles are the main problem of this monitor.

While I don't like the input lag on that model, I am told that it is an 8 bit panel, which most TN panels are not, so it is going to be one of the best TNs on the market. Also, gsync. Overpriced, but still a very nice feature.

I got this monitor just a couple of days back. And I'm noticing a brightness flicker during loading screens for a few games. WOW in particular. Now I've read about it online and it seems to have something to do with GSYNC and the no. of frames going below 30 during these times.
Shouldn't there be a fix for this already? Or is it some of the shortcomings of the TN?
Don't get me wrong, it is a gorgeous display, more beautiful than anything I've ever seen on a monitor but to pay so much and have a flicker like that is unacceptable I feel. Slowly getting used to it though.
