PG-13 Rated Horror Films

Why are so many recent horror movies rated PG-13? Does the public crave watered-down, family friendly horror? I know I plan on never seeing one of these movies. What do you think?

some people don't wanna see teenagers having pre-marital sex and then dying...they only wanna see boobies and then dying.

Indeed ticket sales but what's with the onslaught of horror movies these days anyhow? Seems every third movie is one. When was the last big animated flick?

Madagascar.

What's the biggest market for horror flicks? Teenagers. Always has been.

Done correctly, a PG-13 movie can be pretty damn scary. The Ring was (my wife was freaked out for weeks) and I hear The Grudge was pretty scary too.

to be pg-13 they can only have 1 boob visable, and can say the f--- word only once...=]

actually they are allowed twice

Nope, just once!

While I don't know which movie it was exactly, I know that I have heard the f-word in a PG-13 twice before. And I am talking about the real thing, not a half-way.
