I am using Windows XP Professional. Occasionally when I shut down I get a message that PFCoachWnd100 is running. What is it and can I get rid of it?

It sounds like malware. I'd say it's time to break out the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and see if you can track down what it is exactly that's throwing up that message and deleting it.
