Did you happen to be in Omaha? There is a PF Changs right next to a Cheesecake Factory here...

I think it is common. They have them pretty much next to each other in Boston and Cambridge.

Also...do we need this same thread every year?

Tell us how you really feel. ;)

PF CHANG IS THE TERROR OF CHINA TOWN AND MUST BE DEFEATED!

He dropped my brother into a huge vat of egg soup and then sent a cup of this 'egg drop soup" to our parents. :'( He shall DIE!

The one time I went I got Mongolian Beef, it tasted like and had the texture of one of those frozen meals in a bag. Maybe I chose poorly. Cheesecake Factory is far far from a place I'd chose to go, but I can't say I've actually had anything really unpleasant there.

PF changs are chinese food for white people. Or Chinese people want to be white, aka twinkies.

PF Changs food quality and taste is far different and better than $5 Chinese buffet. Its like comparing Starbucks with McDonalds coffee.

http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/1/29/102949.shtml
When Consumer Reports magazine compared coffee from mega-chain Starbucks with java from three fast-food restaurants, the surprising winner was – McDonald’s.

The magazine had trained tasters sample a medium cup of black coffee from McDonald’s, Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, and found the best cup of joe under the golden arches.

McDonald’s coffee "beat the rest,” according to Consumer Reports. It was "decent and moderately strong. Although it lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws.”

Story Continues Below

As for Starbucks, its coffee "was strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open.”

Most expensive places are pretty shitty. If you compare a $15 thingy at a place like Cheesecake Factory or Boston Pizza against a double mozza burger at A&W, A&W will win every time. On top of that, the service is fucking horrible. In A&W you get your burger in a minute and it tastes great. In Boston Pizza, you wait for 20 minutes before anyone asks if you want food then you wait another 20 minutes to them to make it and it doesn't even taste as good... and they charge 3x as much. wtf? Why does anyone eat there? Fucking retards man.

BLASPHEMER! Cheesecake Factor has killer appetizers and their peanut-butter cup cheesecake is one of the greatest things ever. I could eat their Buffalo Chicken Blasts over just about anything. They also have fried Mac & Cheese balls. Possibly the greatest appetizer ever invented by man. While they're not the best fried mac & cheese balls I've ever had. 99% of places don't even have them.

Calm down fatty

I am very curious as to why people say Cheesecake fact, sucks.

The burgers are decent...

The salads are awesome...

The apps are pretty good (avocado egg rolls are yum and I like the spinach cheese dip)

yeah, they have some questionable dishes (their shepherds pie is horrible), but every place has questionable dishes.

I agree, its a overpriced McDonalds (excluding the cheesecake)

Umm, McDonalds coffee is better than Starbucks. If we're talking coffee and not overly sweetened coffee flavored desert drinks.

Starbucks is basically complete shit actually.

maybe it's because we have chinese take-out a lot, but it amazes me that people actually want to even go to PF Changs for the price premium. IT'S THE SAME FOOD, SAME PORTIONS and no appetizer bonus like breadsticks/biscuits, etc anyway. I don't mind chain restaurants and often eat at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, or Cheesecake Factory because I know what to expect every time and CF has huge, good-tasting, portions which is different than the local pizza shop with the pasta dishes that often come too bland (I always say this about "homemade" stuff). Besides, those pasta dishes are $10 anyway. I feel one is justified while the other is far from it. $14 + tax/tip for the SAME EXACT dish you can get from a $5 lunch combo - that even comes with a soda. Brilliant on the part of whoever came up with it because it's somehow working...

Yup. I don't know how places like this (and even worse, Panda Express) thrive here in Hawaii. We have great Chinese places and pretty good chinese fast food. Yet, PF Changs and Panda express are booming. My wife loves both of these places, but I understand, she's a mainland transplant (raised on the Navajo reservation in AZ). What I don't understand is the many local/asian people lining up to eat at these places...there is much better Chinese food for much cheaper all around here!!!

They're looking for Westernized Chinese food. Authentic would be something like Salted pork, chicken feet, eggplant, other stuff.

Wo Hop in NYC trumps PF chang and Cheescake factory.

Wow someone mentioned Wo Hop! I wonder how many more ppl know of Wo Hop. The BEST chinese fried dumplings ever, hands down. We used to make Wo Hop trips from NJ, drive for 1 hour for WH Chinese food. Whenever I go back to NYC I always remember to stop at Wo Hop. We are of course talking about the one on Mott street?

People like chains for the consistency. Every local chinese food place near me is a hit or miss depending on the cooks mood. Sometimes, it downright disgusting and undercooked/cooked with old burned tasting oil.

Never been to P.F. Chang's... not sure if it's really worth going.

You can actually buy P.F. Chang's food in those frozen bags.

Yup, Mott. It has gone down in quality over the last couple of years but still kicks ass!
