Sure peyton set the touchdown record, but... SO WHAT? Lets look at the teams he played against during the regular season:

Thu. Sep. 9 @New England Loss 27-24 (still can't beat the pats!)
Sun. Sep. 19 @Tennessee Win 31-17 (horrible team this season)
Sun. Sep. 26 Green Bay Win 45-31 (mediocre team)
Sun. Oct. 3 @Jacksonville Win 24-17 (mediocre team)
Sun. Oct. 10 Oakland Win 35-14 (horrible team)
BYE WEEK
Sun. Oct. 24 Jacksonville Loss 27-24 (mediocre team)
Sun. Oct. 31 @Kansas City Loss 45-35 (horrible team)
Mon. Nov. 8 Minnesota Win 31-28 (horrible team)
Sun. Nov. 14 Houston Win 49-14 (horrible team)
Sun. Nov. 21 @Chicago Win 41-10 (horrible team)
Thu. Nov. 25 @Detroit Win 41-9 (horrible team)
Sun. Dec. 5 Tennessee Win 51-24 (horrible team this season)
Sun. Dec. 12 @Houston Win 23-14 (horrible team)
Sun. Dec. 19 Baltimore Win 20-10 (horrible offense, only scored 1 td against baltimore's d)
Sun. Dec. 26 San Diego Win 34-31 (OT) (one good team i give peyton credit for)
Sun. Jan. 2 @Denver Loss 33-14 (peyton didn't play)

Give me a break! If the colts had a halfway decent schedule, they probably would've been a wildcard team! And manning would probably have like 28 TD's.

I think these two pictures says it all:

IMHO, he's definately not overrated but the media won't shutup until he beats the Patriots in Foxboro or wins the Super Bowl.

Monday Morning QB, would have been a completely different story had the Colts dominated them. Now with that being said I agree with everything you wrote.

He's not overrated. Manning captains a precision offense, that under the right conditions, is unstoppable. They lost - on the road - in a snow strom - to a superior Patriots team.

If you dno't understand how hard it is to win on the road in the playoffs, especially in snowy, frigid Foxboro, you don't know enough about football to intelligently offer an opinion.

What does that first pic have any thing to do with Manning being overrated? As if you're trying to say he's getting his receivers killed.....those hits are just part of the game.

OK, was I the only one who saw the look on Dan Marino's face during the postgame show on Sunday when Boomer Esiason called out Peyton Manning for choking in the clutch, and labeled him the 21st century Dan Marino? Probably one of the most unintentionally funny moments in anchor desk history. Shannon Sharpe almost had to hold Marino back, and for the rest of the segment he had the most uncomfortable crooked "smile" I ever saw.

For everything else, there's Mastercard. :D:beer::cookie:

Yes, because all i've heard is how peyton is so accurate and times his passes so well that he rarely gets his receivers killed.

Seems to me that he's the perfect QB for a pass-happy offense that plays in a dome.

"Under the right conditions" = Dome, other team has no pass defense, the moon is aligned with Jupiter, etc, etc.....

I saw that. Marino looked pissed. He made it clear that he did make it to a Superbowl.

You called it dead on last week.

Precision offense that can't function in less than perfect weather.

Yeah, Boomer doesn't even qualify to be Marino's jock strap holder. It's not his fault he never had a running game or defense...at all.

I saw Marino's expression. I do not think it was luck that they had a camera on Marino at the right time.

I would be curious to see how other QB's have performed against the same teams that the OP listed.

My conclusions about yesterday's game:

The Colts need a better defense.

The Pats are a very good and balanced team.

Patriot fans are worse than Laker fans. They've forgotten how much their team sucked in the late 80s and 90s.

You might have been saying something different if James hadn't fumbled twice on week 1(and that missed FG that would've tied the game). One came in the NE territory, and the other one came right at the NE goal line. That would've put both teams at 13-3, and the Pats would be playing at IND. But James did fumble, so it's a moot point, and the Pats can stop fast teams in a dome (like they did the Rams in their earlier Super Bowl). Anyway, he's not overrated, but the receivers might be.
