Lets post fun stories involving pets and Christmas, I'm sure there are quite a few funny stories to be told.
A couple years ago, we decided to make a stocking for our cat (no longer have this cat, I miss her
). It was basically just a transparant plastic stocking with a bunch of cat toys in it, so we put it just behind the other gifts under the tree so we could pull it out at Christmas eve and give her the toys. I can't recall what we did meanwhile, think we had opened up our own stockings, or decided to open just one gift, this was Christmas eve night.
Anyway so time goes by, the cat always stayed around most of the time. Then, out of nowhere when we were pretty much done and just sitting around, the cat starts climbing over the gifts, and no joke, bites down on her stocking and pulls it out of from under the tree, and starts to take the toys out! I wish so bad this was on camera. To this day we still laugh at that. Like, as if she knew it was hers, and she even waited her turn LOL.
There was some cat nip toys in there so we're thinking that may of contributed, but just the way she went in and pulled it out, it was so epic. While I love my current cat and she's just as funny in different ways, I really miss this cat. The stuff she did was just so funny, she was almost human like.
My current cat did also enjoy Christmas at my parents though, she'd hide under the tree, play with ornaments, and my mom had this snow man statue holding a staff and the staff had a bell on it hanging off a ribon, she'd start pawing the bell and it would make noise. Out of nowhere we'd start to hear jingle bells and wonder WTF is going on then go check and see the cat playing with the bells. Fun times, fun times.
