Hello I'm new 'round here. I don't normaly post things on forums but I wanted a reaction from lots of techies fast. I found out the other day that Trumpet Software of Hobart, Tasmania (you all remember winsock) has just relesed a Windows like operating system called PetrOS (greek for rock) that can run win32 apps. It boasts a lot of other features that windows can't like running on 2MB of Ram etc. Trumpet says that it is not a clone but rather a whole new OS built from the ground up. This would indicate that it would be far more stabe than M$ windows. Now here's the killer, Trumpet only wants $50 for the full version. The real test will be if it can run Office 2000 without a hitch, for if it can the corporate market might take a serious look at it. This could turn out to be the next big thing. I want your opinion. Sounds interesting. I can't go to the page though. Is the link bad???? I get this

Page not available due to a dns propagation issue.

Stats are tracking and the page will be available to you

as soon as your isp updates their dns records.

Petros means stone. Petra means rock. Peter was not in my book but if it does translate to peter that does not mean it doesn't mean stone too. Poritz is Polish, and Yidish for proprieter it is also a name. But this is beside the point. PetrOS deserves attn. from our community.:):)
