Petra's Tech Shop and Sidewinder Computers are set to merge. The details of the merger are still being hammered out but Petra's Tech Shop [PTS] has moved out of California and is shipping out of Sidewinder Computers' warehouse in Indiana. PTS will remain a seperate website. Gary, of Sidewinder Computers, is acting president of both companies.

Damn, I didn't see that coming at all. I had always assumed Gary and John would merge, but not Petras.

I think Petra's was having stocking issues, but that is mere speculation. I almost stopped checking their site because everyone was sold out 99% of the time. Hopefully this gets them back up and running, because they've always been real good about everything.

alex has been really good to his customers.

However lately they have had a lot of shipping problems, also associated with stock issues.

They used sidewinders to ship out a while ago, i noticed this.. and they still charged tax, which is why i kinda stopped using them.

Might as well shop at sidewinders directly, and NOT pay cali tax.

But its sad to see a store disappear.... its now sidewinders, but petra's was a household name for watercooling, almost on par to jab-tech.

I was wondering about them also. I remember before xmas they had a sale with some pretty good prices on selected items. Pretty much everything sold out during the sale and whenever I checked back seems like nothing was in stock again.
