your either completely ignorant or just plain stupid

I'm afraid you'll have to explain...

Shaq: This season is averaging 25.9 PPG, 10.50 RPG and 2.15 BPG.

Ming: This season is averaging 12.9 PPG, 7.9 RPG and 2.00 BPG. *Shaq's rookie season numbers are still better than Ming's at this point in Ming's rookie season*

Shaq also has 3 rings and 40 pounds on Ming. How could anyone argue that Shaq isn't clearly the most dominating player in the league, and certainly better than Ming (having not seen them play each other of course). Either way it'll be confirmed by today's Lakers/Rockets game, where Shaq will surely dominate Ming...though I'm definitely anticipating the matchup. :D

As for Shaq's comments being racist...how are his Chinese jokes any different from his White jokes about Mark Madsen? I've seen Shaq make fun of someone or something in every interview I've seen him in.

I, personally, see nothing wrong with it and think the rest of you'ns should lighten up!

amish

Step in the shoes of an asian person and be the subject of such comments to your face and see how you feel. The petition is moronic and will accomplish nothing...but there is nothing to lighten up about...mocking the asian language such as the comments made by shaq was RACIST. Of course you wouldn't know anything like that because I'm going to "assume" your
A) white & B) lived in America most if not all your life.

ir emember last year i played ball with my roomates. (one is black, one is white, i am chinese). anyways we played pickup at veteran's park in westwood.

with 7 other black guys. anyways i was hooping it up, crossed over some guys, broke their ankles. really good game for me. the black guys all started making fun of the ones who got shown up, by saying they got beat by "chinese" (me duh).

anyways, i think people make too big a deal about this stuff. i mean they were just joking around. and like... i took no offense , i actually felt good because they recognized that i was good at basketball. like sure some could think it was in a derogatory way, like ... "you are getting beaten by a mere chinese man" but the tone of the whole exchange, was very fun , and i laughed with them, it was just trash talk.

anyways, so after wards, i ask my black roomate, if he was playing with like 8 asian guys, and we called him the "black guy" what he'd do. and like, he said he'd be all mad, and i was like, isnt that just what happened to me. so i was like, its because of that, that people get all riled up in the world, its just all for fun. now, if the guys had said something like, " man you are such a disgrace, chinese beat you, how can you call yourself a man" in a serious tone, then maybe i'd have been offendede.

this yao ming thing is just stupid. granted shaq is a moron and sounds like he has the mind of a 12 year old every time he speaks in public and should have known this would incite a riot with the easily excited public nowadays. but the key is that we really shouldnt care at all because its not that big a deal. all you people out making a big fuss out there dammit get a life.

Why is it that racism is pretty much the ultimate taboo at the moment? People get more upset about a racist remark than about murders, rapes, gun crime or indeed pretty much anything else. In the end, Shaq said something. Wow. So it pisses you off - Big deal. In my book, calling someone white or black is no different from describing someone as tall, fat or anything else. Racial slurs should be no worse than any other kind of insult.
