Petition Against RIAA

Blah blah blah. Glad they are going after the individuals. Now they need to leave legitimate means of swapping legitimate files alone and we could be all set.

Is it illegal to download music videos?

It depends. Did the band/record company release the music video to the public for download? If they did, then no it isn't illegal.

online petitions are pointless.

There must be thousands of online petitions by now... Has a single one of them accomplished ANYTHING???

Petitions can work when people take the time out to print out the petition and mail it to the Politicians as was done in my case. They weren't too thrilled in getting tons of paper mail as well as tons of e-mail from all around the world.

Yes, I know personally they can work.

RIAA will take the list and sue everyone on it

yeah, i saw the little thing that said only music swappers can sign the list.

what does that tell you about what they're doing with it??

*sigh*

Accept it...downloading music you don't own is STEALING. Stealing is illegal. That's like signing a petition so that people can walk into Sears and take whatever they want w/o paying for any of it. It's pointless and stupid.

BTW: I didn't read the petition.

screw petitions . . .

hit 'em where it HURTS - in their pocketbooks . . .

BOYCOTT the RIAA
(stop buying new CDs - buy indie and go to artists concerts you like; buy used)
😛

It's not about the stealing of the music. No one ever argues that it's legal. It's about RIAA's illegal tactics used
