Shit, I bet they'll finish the TV versions of all four current books before the fifth one is published.

I have no confidence at all that the book series will ever be finished, which is a shame because the first part is awesome.

He is hoping to finish by around octobor by this year, with release in the UK around february of 2010. Don't hold him to it though.

What's pathetic is the last books released in Ice and Fire and in RJ's Wheel of Time both came out in 2005. But the next WoT book will be released in November, and RJ's dead. When a dead guy writes faster than you, you have issues.

George Martin has either lost interest or has lost direction with his series because he is just way too slow. In fact, he spends all day blogging and talking about NFL.

Sorry, no news on Book 5, that would require actual work instead of going to 'cons and blogging about football.

HOWEVER, Cercei Lannister has been cast:

Lena "Sarah Conner" Headey

I approve this casting.

I hope this series is picked up and is successful on HBO though. It seems promising.
