won't these morons just dry up and blow away
(AP) - An animal-rights campaign comparing the suffering of livestock to that of Holocaust victims is drawing sharp criticism from a leading Jewish group for "trivializing" the mass murder of Jews. "The Holocaust on Your Plate" campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, debuted this week in California and will make a national tour

too bad no one actually listens to PETA anymore. They've lost all credibility and respect from the majority of the population.

groups like PETA are slowly disappearing, and because the membership has shrunk, the only ones in them are the radical factions. This is why you are seeing such idiotic nonsense lately from these groups. In their attempt to gain followers, they are just driving intelligent people away and attracting the nutjobs out there.

I am actually glad PETA did this. IMO, it has got to be the one of the worst PR moves by a company in recent memory. Comparing a "starved cow" to a "starved holocaust victim," among other such comparisons ranks right up there (or down there) with those who deny the holocaust flat out.

While I guess I would agree with the basic idea of ethical treatment for animals...PETA blows things way, way, way out of proportion.

much as i agree, peta isn't a company

Holocaust on your plate? I hope someone starts murdering the PETA people who are behind this one. That comparison disgusts me.

my favorite was when they claimed that cow's milk was a cause of osteoporosis.

They aren't the only ones to have claimed that... studies have been done, and findings suggest that they are right. But nobody can stop an industry as large as the dairy industry.

Milk is icky anyway

Yes, studies have been done to prove we never landed on the moon either. Doesn't mean they are right. They are pushing a cause so therefore their studies have no meaning.

It has been proven for over 50 years that milk is a leading source of calcium. Anyone who argues otherwise is an idiot.

It's been proven by the dairy industry, yes. Ever since you were a kid it's been drilled into you every day at school. The fact is that the amount of (lactic acis I believe?) causes calcium to be leached from your system. I believe the dairy industry had an ad running a while ago that had something to the effect of "Milk will prevent such and such", and they were sued and lost because it was proven to be a lie.

The studies that prove this stuff isn't sponsored by PETA. I don't agree with their methods, but they are right.

Nope. Its been proven countless times by independent labs.

Lactic acid! hehe. That's a good one. Lactic acid occurs in the body while doing exercise. When your muscles ache from repetative exercise and you can rep anymore, you can blame lactic acid for that.

Seriously, stop listening to these people. They don't know what they are talking about.

As for that so called lawsuit crap. Never happened.

I'm all for better treatment for animals and I can definately say that I'm all for animals-rights.
But PETA is a bunch of whackos and give real animal-rights activist a black eye.
I would have no problem eating fried chicken in front of them while they're protesting.

Agreed.

I want to go where they meet and setup a big BBQ with hotdogs, hamburgers and steaks and milk to wash it down with. I would invite everyone from ATOT to join in.
