Pet question: Cat

Nocturnal

Lifer
Is there any medication that rids cats of all their fleas? My girlfriend would like to adopt (free) one. My girlfriend's mother is worried about fleas. So I told her that I would check if there is any way or medication that can or will rid fleas off of house cats.

There are lots of flea products to choose from. Frontline is supposed to be good.

Just don't use Hartz, their products have been known to cause adverse reactions in cats.

How old is the cat? I would refrain from using such products on very young kittens.

Just go to a vet and get whatever treatment they offer. I personally use advantage flea control. Works great. I have used Revolution also which is good if you need protection against fleas and heartworms.

My wife and I have 5 cats, all indoors. We use Revolution on ours and it seems to work very well. You'll have to get it from a vet.

My cats had the worst flea problem, they went in and out of the house as they please and brought in every flea possible. We finally took them to the vet and got Frontline Plus. 3 days after applying the stuff all the fleas were gone. You can get the stuff from 1800petmeds.com for less than the vet charges.

I had to get rid of the carpets to end the flea problem..otherwise it's a constant chemical assult on the cat and carpet plus lots of vaccuming..
