Pet Peeves....

Just one of my pet peeves when I go to the library or somewhere and use the computer and you can feel the mouse just sticking, I have to pop the ball out and clean the mouse. (assuming they still use old ball mice)

What are some other pet peeves you have?

I used to have the same mouse peeve, thank god for optical mice now.

I don't really know if I have other pet peeves, nothing comes to mind though I'm sure they exist.

Pet peeves. Got a couple years to read all of mine? heheh - here's a couple off the top of my head.

Driving: Someone pulls out in front of you when they could have waited, since there is no other car behind you for 18 miles.

Work: Weather harbingers of doom. When snow is on the way, a few office folk spend all day talking about how the amount of snow will be enough not only to bury the entire province, but surely kill at least half of the population as well. Relax, we'll get 5cm.

Eating: People that chew with their mouth open OR make a lot of noise with their chewing. Nuff said

ATOT: Thread crappers - the REALLY senseless ones, like "Rap sucks".

It is never the ball that is dirty when you have that problem. The sticking is due to the rollers that contact the ball. I routinely clean those out of other people's mice. It takes just 1 minute to save tons of frustrations.

I've known many people who have thrown away perfectly good mice for this very reason.

Something I remembered from back when I was a novice. My family had been using the same computer for many years. Well, after around 6 or so years of use the mouse movement wasn't all that smooth anymore. Was getting hard to use.

So I have a look at it and notice I can open it up and take the ball out. I discover the plastic rollers inside and the first thing I think is: "Oh man, the little leather covers on these rollers are wearing out! I bet replacements will be a bitch to find." Needless to say they needed a pretty good cleaning.. 😛

We used to have a tech that worked here that would throw away the mice instead of cleaning them.

Pet Peeves:

Slow Walkers - Get out of my God damned way you enormous walking beached whale!

Obscenely obese people at the Buffet - Jesus Christ lady! Why do you continue to graze on the buffet?! You are going to die.

It's not heigth, it's height!

Old Men Who Stare at Me - Quit staring at me you fat wrinkled old troll.

Extremely Tight Jeans on Extremely Fat Women - Why???

Pretending to Limp with your pant leg rolled up and a dew rag on - You are not hurt. Why are you limping? Why is your pant leg rolled up? Why?? Why do you have a dew rag on? You have no hair. It's not cold. Nor is it really hot.

Guys who lean all the way back in their car seats so that you cannot see them - Is your seat broken? Or are you just a fvcking retard? How can you see the road you ugly bastard? Why not just sit in the back seat?

Sorry.

yea. back when there wer more ball mice. it just bugs me that people live with a clearly malfunctioning device and hthink its ok

yeah so retarded how people don't clean their mice.
i am trying to migrate all systems to optical to avoid having to be called for a "crappy mouse" by someone in the office.

hassles galore.

Right. I didn't mean clean the ball... 🙂 Some mice I've seen, the rollers were coated with the lint stuff, almost had to take a crowbar and pry it off. 😀
