About 2 1/2 weeks ago my dog started limping. So I took him in to the vet. The vet checked him gave him his UTD shots and watched me walk him for a bit. Of course the whole time we were there he didn't limp once. He said if it continues, bring him back for x-rays.
So the following week he started again at the end of the week to limp, it got bad to the point he wasn't getting up at all. He was lifting his whole rear up trying to walk on his front legs only. So Saturday I took him in. He struggled a bit pissed on the vet and his assistant so they had to sedate him. The vet was concerned for is hips given his breed. He found nothing wrong with the x-rays. His hips are in excellent shape for a boxer his age. And the joints look good as well. However, this is all above the knee.
Sunday after the sedation wore off he was worse than he has been yet. So we took him back to the vet and he said he's make a special appointment with a specialist.
So far this has cost me $70.00 for the first visit which consisted of a Physical examination and UTD shots and the 2nd visit $200.00 for another physical, vitals etc, 2 x-rays and sedation.
There is no telling what the next visit will cost me seeing as how they are specialists.
About a week prior to all this I enrolled in Pet Care Pet insurance. $34.00 a month for a Master Care coverage. I'm starting to think this was a good idea. My dog is part of the family and if we have insurance, I think he should too. I want him to live long and healthy.
Incase you are wondering I own a Male, Plain boxer, 4 years old.

So.... my question is:
What do you think of pet insurance?
Is your pet(s) currently insured?
Would you consider it if you had a pet?
