PES 2013 or FIFA 13

So it's now September. The summer transfer window has closed after a frantic 31st august. It means that the anticipation has reached the extreme for the new football games. This year the battle is really close between PES and FIFA. So I will appreciate your suggestions regarding the ideal choice. Last year, I had bought fifa 12. While overall it was pretty good, there was some problems that ruined my career mode experience significantly. first of all, I had to adjust cpu running speed to make the game playable at higher difficulties. Then there were limitations with team formations where there were no options to play a second striker. There were also problems with youth player growth, unrealistic financial management and to top it all, frequent corruption of career mode data and career crashes. So I am thinking about going back to pes this year. Due to lack of licensed teams, I will download a patch. If I choose bundesliga as league d and segunda division as league d2, will other teams from patch and their players be available under other European teams? Will those teams appear in champions league in master league too? Thanks a lot.

In terms of game play, PES used to be better, but the last few have felt too "arcady" compared to FIFA. While FIFA definitely makes me rage from time to time, I think it's still better than PES.

However, I haven't looked at either game's upcoming release. My post is about '12.

I play Fifa12 now and I have a love-hate relationship with it in how the AI works from time to time. I have no plans to move to Fifa13, but I may take a look at PES 13 on the PC (so I can get real rosters via mods).

You'll likely need to review the release notes or pose the question to the patch creator directly.

Fifa is a higher quality title IMO as of last year. In years past PES was praised for better and more realistic gameplay but last year's title was a little faster and more arcade like than Fifa. I suppose for some people that's what they want.

Hey guys' thanks for the answers. Because I have fifa 12, I will only buy fifa 13 if theres a significant improvement in game-play. Now I have not managed to get the demo due to slow Internet speeds, but surely some of you have played that demo. Is it any different from fifa 12 or its just a rehash with new rosters?

Massive fan of PES over the years but the last two installments have been utterly appalling.

Another franchise that changes nothing and more likely leaves the odd crappy bug or AI problem so that next years will be that huge improvement. But it never is.

Tired of the series anyway and find playing football games very dull. A shame because the times playing PES with some mates were some o the best but the AI issues and elements gameplay and refereeing that just never get addressed made me give up and lose faith in Konami to produce anything quality.

FIFA I haven't tried for a good while... either way, I don't really miss playing these titles like I may have done in my early twentys. Football just gets dull and the way the games feel requires a huge overhall with some real intelligent and dynamic play without the AI seemingly cheating to do one over you. Plus, I absolute hate football in reality. Full of absolute morons who get paid way too much money and the teams and players are idolised by reactionary scum!

The "good" gameplay that is a part of FIFA now was started by PES. However, atm FIFA clearly is better, gameplay and graphic wise.
