Pert Plus "Fresh" - What in the name of god are they thinking?!

Like most other guys I know I buy Pert Plus shampoo. It's shampoo and conditioner in one!! Things started getting bumpy a while back when they started offering choices like "Dry" and "Oily" and all that crap, but I stuck in there. Two days ago I'm shopping for another bottle and see a bottle with no hair type listed and I'm thinking "Score! No thinking! Look, it's 'Fresh' too! Woo!" so I grab it and buy it.

Fast forward to this morning, I'm trying out my wonderful new hair type-less shampoo and I notice something odd. My scalp is kindof cool and I'm smelling Menthol. MENTHOL. The shampoo has f-ing Menthol in it to make it "cool" which I suppose in their warped mind makes it "fresh". Meanwhile I'm thinking this is smelling decidely unfresh and I don't like rubbing menthol on my body unless I'm suffering from some kind of sports injury.

According to my gf my hair now smells like a cough drop. I believe there are scientific studies proving that cough drop smell != fresh.

What in the hell are those freaking morons thinking? I'm switching to Suave you bastards!

I once used an American Crew shampoo that had a slow, sublte tingle. I imagine that this is the ersatz version of that. On another note, Suave for Men is awesome, smells good, and can be had for less than $2 a bottle. I use their 2 in 1.

suave daily clarifying is good stuff
its all i use
and its like 1.57 a bottle
but my hair gets really oily.

How can water, but mostly chemicals and coloring, be fresh or natural?

I was niavely thinking that "fresh" was referring to the scent.

of course, my hair is stubble, so not too much to worry about, but I've used this when my hair was longer too. Good stuff, blows away suave.

My american crew shampoo and conditioners r0x0r...though my sister's paul mitchell stuff is good too (but a lot more expensive :|)

i gotta agree... even though american crew is aimed at men, i love the way the body washes smell. i also love their new line of "cooling" shampoos. it is a blend of mint and lemon!!

Head & Shoulders menthol with seperate conditioner (varies, Scwarzkopf, Pantene, Herbal Essences, whatever I get bought)

2 in 1's never work anywhere near as well.

Between this thread and watching Queer Eye, I'm going to have to reconsider my years of loyal dedication to Pert Plus No-Brainer Hair Care Products.

HEY, i use herbal essences.

it's better than all that crap with conditioners IN it. OMFG, i hate shampoos with conditioner in it.
