Help me think of a topic for my persuasive speech, the topic has to somehow affect the people in my class (college students at Purdue University in Indiana). She suggested stuff like new laws or something.

Our national language should be Korean - hangul is easy to learn, and would decrease illiteracy. Obvious impact.

Concealed Carry reform now - it should be easier for law abiding citizen to carry a concealed handgun. Take either side, plenty of source material available. Impact - the person next to you may be carrying a loaded firearm. Does that hit close to home?

The War. Pro/Con // recruiters on campus decision // etc, etc, etc.

Hell man, just go to news.google.com and find any article. Try to discuss it with a real human being for 30 seconds.

I gave one last semester about "If you're going to buy an new car, you shoul d consider a toyota" and then talked about how many new manufacturing plants they have built in the US, how reliable the cars are, hybrid technology, yadda yadda. got an A

That's good... avoid controversial topics like the war, guns, and treat it more like an honest sales pitch.
