I've never heard of the site. Is it reputable in the security industry? :p

Hell, half of those "firewalls" seem to be a lot more than just a firewall.

EDIT: The reviews are horrible. Too short, don't mention testing methodology :)Q), don't appear to be peer reviewed, etc. Ick.

I did a search on Zonealarm on PC world, I think. Or I did a random google search. I can't even remember.

I think the reviews maybe somewhat flawed, especially after seeing Norton being #3 and Mcafee being #6.

Yeah, McAfee shouldn't be on that list. Kerio is no where to be seen.

And isn't Kaspersky supposed to be very good? #11 on the list.

ZoneAlarm IS crap. It trashed some of the programs on my machine so badly that I am going to have to do a rollback or a format.

I just use the SP2 firewall. Host-based outbound filtering gives you nothing, but a false sense of security.

I don't know why so many people have problems with ZA. I've used it for years, have installed tons of software and games, use a router as well, and have never had any problems whatsoever.

Same here. Zonealarm is awesome. Not a single problem here.

No, it gives you an added layer of security.

Although you could be right, I'll run over and tell our IT guy to shut off the outbound filtering on our PIX, as it's worthless.

I find it amusing that ZAP is the cheapest one listed on that review...It's the only one listed with a savings, to boot. I have a slight inclination that this was rigged...
