If you were using some kind of DB software, preferably one that was easy to use because you had no previous DB experience, to keep track of names and phone numbers and such, what would you be using?

Quickly I'd use a spreadsheet. Otherwise I'd take the time to learn Open Office Base, or Access if I had MS Office.

Access is retardedly easy, and powerful if you know what you're doing.

<- Had to make a rather ridiculous access DB for company without knowing wtf I was doing.

For names and phone numbers, the Address Book or Contacts List in Windows Mail or Live Mail or OE is pretty good and easy to use. Basically it is a flat file data base. It can also be easily exported to any other Windows machine.

For names and phone numbers, you might also consider using your Gmail account and enjoy free real-time syncing with your Android phone...
