Anyone have any first-hand experience with both of these solutions? I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Personal Cinema. (I currently have an AIW Radeon but am a little disappointed with <insert ATI issue here>.)

I had the distinct displeasure of settung up nVidia Personal Cinema once and I don't intend to do so again. Drivers are terrible, features re extremely poorly implemented and many don't work very well at all. Is difficult to set up and get running "properly". Product documentation is virtually non-existent.

It's based on only one experience with it.... albeit I spent quite a lot of time with it that time, and others may have differing opinions.... but IMHO it is a distinctely poorly implemented product. Much potential, but the execution was was lacking.

No expierence with the personal cinema, just heard that it in no way matches the AIW cards. ATI has a lot of expierence here and you can't be their reliability and quality with the 2D extras. I'm no upset about an ATI issue though... reduced picture quality is what you've been getting from Nvidia forever.... the 8500 drivers are new, so is the XP, you can't blame them for that, unless they are unable to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to read it before I purchased the VisionTek version of the Personal Cinema package. The ATI AIW is definitely a superior product. The Xtasy Everything is going back to the store this week.
