Persona 3 FES Thread

Please discuss the following statement:
"Persona 3 FES is the best JRPG to come out in the past two years."

I bought this game, and it was by far the best $30 I've spent in a long time. The story just blows your mind every few minutes, and the characters and story are genuinely involving.

I don't many people on this board care for JRPGs that are past the SNES era.

I played Persona 3 but not FES. It was a good game, but it was not mindblowing.

EDIT:
PS - I honestly think Lost Odyssey is better.

There's a big thread on it over at ArsTechnica G.E.S.C. if you're looking for tips and such.

I have it but it's sitting on my unplayed pile taunting me right now, along with Xenosaga III and Final Fantasy X. I need to finish Xenosaga II and Neverwinter II MOTB expansion first.

I keep thinking about getting it but the list of PS2 games I have waiting to play is enormous.

I also need to see some combat videos. I love Jrpg though.

I want to know why no one is talking about Arcana Heart which is a freakin awesome 2d fighter.

I just checked out Arcana Heart, looks pretty damn sweet. I'm a huge fan of 2D fighters, I haven't played a good one in a while, since GGX2 or Melty Blood.

Is FES like an addition to regular Persona 3? Would you have to play both to understand it?

P3 FES includes the full original P3 plus an extra 30 hours of content.

P3 at $50 was too expensive for me, but $30 with extra content is down to my price.

VP2 is great. Is Persona 3 the one where the characters "shoot themselves in the head"?

I don't know what it is about P3F, but it just really appeals to me. It still has the typical JRPG vibe of "things happen to you" rather than "you happen to things" (which is the difference between western and Japanese RPGs), but I like the way it splits up the gameplay between "dungeon grind" and "real life". The story is excellent, too.

I need to get VP2, too.

There is an absolute shit ton of amazing console games that don't have threads here and Persona 3 not having one surprises you? Where is my Shiren thread. Oh that's right, I'm too lazy to make threads.

Have you heard about Chaos Wars?
