When I was a kid I had this bright idea that they should put a solar panel, light bulb and a battery inside a car and use an electric motor instead of gas. When you start the car the battery would power the light bulb, which would power the solar panel which would then power the light bulb and keep the battery charged. The rest of the car's electrical system and motor would also run off the panel once the cycle was started. All electric unlimited power car, you just need to change the light bulb when it burns.

My dad often said he wanted a solar-charged electric car (ie solar panels on the roof), and then he would park under a street light at night.

Thats a capacitor. He keeps recharging it and cutting the video. Very insincere of him. He should actually have an hour of footage of it running uncharged, to prove it.
