Permission for Lavalys to access system resources

Hello everyone, I've been lurking around the website for quite some time now (3 or 4 years I think). I finally decided to sign up for an account and would ask for help from you. Here it is:
I have a Lavalys Everest v4.60 installed on Vista Ultimate SP1 32-bit. I'm trying to teach someone to monitor and overclock things, so I let him use my system as the guinea pig. I only granted a standard user account for him so that everything else in the OS is left untouched. Under this user account, Lavalys cannot access any of the hardware sensor as well as SMART information, and therefore he wouldn't know temperatures, voltages, etc... I've already added his name for full control over this particular file only (everest.exe) but it still doesn't show anything. The easy way is of course to grant him the administrator account but is there any other way around?

There's something on the hard drive that shouldn't be touched. I didn't know that windows would block access to read temperatures.

Think Windows just won't allow access to these sensors to a limited account by design. Your best bet is probably a workaround in the form of putting an old hdd in there for him to install his own windows on and unplug/remove yours; or relegate him to the BIOS readings I suppose.

I just went with the easy way, i.e. giving the administrator account to him. The drive is unplugged so nothing will be corrupted.
